Welcome to the Middlefield Children’s Center, a place where children are honored as capable protagonists in their own learning—free to explore, investigate, and construct meaning through rich, hands-on experiences.

We are currently looking for an Assistant Teacher for the our afternoon hours!

For all positions, pay is dependent on teaching experience and education. 

​

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Supporting children's play, exploration, inquiry and creative/critical thinking

• Actively engage the children and facilitate their learning through play and exploration

• Ability to establish and communicate clear expectations for children inclusive of respect, collaboration, participation, and problem solving 

• Able to manage small and large groups of children in a calm and nurturing manner

• Maintain a positive mindset and can model problem solving skills 

• Understands that they are a role model to the children

• Develop and maintain a positive relationship with children and families

• Providing basic needs for children

• Working collaboratively with our head and lead teachers

• Adheres to our programs policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of child development to plan for each day and set appropriate goals

• Ability and desire to work with children of varying abilities and backgrounds to support their learning and development

• Ability to maintain clean, organized, and neat spaces, indoors and outdoors

• Ability to actively communicate with children and parents

• Patient, professional, and kind disposition is a must!

Education and experience:

• Minimum of a CDA, AA in ECE/CD preferred

• 1-3 years experience working with children ages 3-5

• Ability to continue personal education growth by attending workshops and training

• CPR/First Aid, Medical Administration and Epipen training, or willingness to complete these trainings

Middlefield Children's Center is a special and unique program that has 5 classrooms with small groups of children. We currently have 1 part time position open with the hours of 1-6 or 3-6pm. Starting salary ranges from $17 - $19+ per hour based on education and experience. Benefits include: Paid sick days, savings plan, and employee discount. This is a hourly paid position. We also offer a summer program and teachers are paid hourly over the summer months.
